The Parkston community offers a wide range of athletic and recreational athletic opportunities for local residents and visitors.

BASKETBALL The local gym offers residents an opportunity to participate in weekly open gym. For ages and times contact the school 605-928-3368

CAMPING The campsites offer full hookups, sewer, water, cable TV, and electrical. The campground also includes restroom facilities and showers with hot and cool water. HUNTING The Parkston area has hundreds of public acres available within minutes of Parkston and hunting is very accessible. The Department of Game Fish and Parks does a great job with ponds, lakes and grassland areas to help the hunting to be productive. Pheasants, ducks, geese and deer are just a few of the locally hunted wildlife.

GOLF Parkston Country Club is a 9-hole course located 1 mile south and 1 and a 1/2 miles east of Parkston on Hwy 37. The course offers excellent opportunities for both beginning as well as experienced golfers. A clubhouse offers cart rental as well as food and beverages. www.parkstoncountryclub.com

PICNIC GROUNDS Parkston has 2 parks that have sheltered picnic areas. They include picnic tables, grills electricity, water, and bathroom facilities.

BASEBALL / SOFTBALL Parkston has a summer baseball program for both youth and adult. See schedules here.

SWIMMING POOL The Parkston swimming pool has slides, 2 diving boards, separate wading pool, concessions, men's and women's lockers with showers. If you would like to join the summer swim team please call Troy and LeOnna Koehn 605-928-3996

TENNIS COURTS You will find a tennis court in the West Park located by the swimming pool on Main Street. No reservation needed; just bring your own racket and ball. The court is lighted, and free to the public.

VOLLEYBALL COURT The Rose Bormann Park has a volleyball net in the sand for a summer blast of fun. You supply the volleyball. The court is free to public.
